Asthma & Anaphylaxis combined

Information about this unit:

This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders,
until the arrival of medical or other assistance and provide advance training in the use
of auto injectors for the treatment of anaphylaxis and the advance treatments associated with Asthma.

This unit of competency has been approved by ACECQA and meets the requirements of “First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis”.

Prerequisite:

Students must be at least 14 years of age at the time of attendance.

Clothing: We suggest that you wear comfortable casual clothing, as the practical nature of the demonstrations and practice may possibly require bending, kneeling and lying on the floor. Pants and flat shoes are recommended.

Award Issued:

This course is a skill set combination course designed for child care workers containing the following units: 

 

- 22556VIC Course in the management of Asthma risks and emergencies in the workplace

- 22300VIC Course in first aid management of anaphylaxis 

 

Initial Course duration:

​Face to Face: 4 hours face to face training

 

Refresher Course duration:

Face to Face: 3hours face to face training​

What are my rights and responsibilities as a student?
